The LightHearts UK Mindfulness Meditation Course
Would you like to be less stressed? Would you like to live each day in the moment instead of living in the past, or rushing around trying to complete your ‘to-do’ list? Would you like to be able to cope with difficult situations in a calm and peaceful manner?
LightHearts UK has developed a fully comprehensive mindfulness course which in six one-hour weekly sessions, covers all the main mindfulness practices and techniques that will allow you to finally take control of your life and emotions.
Unlike a normal course that only adds to your to-do list, mindfulness is not a wellbeing practice that you fit into your day like a trip to the gym, or something that you have to tick off like some sort of chore. It is something you can do at any time of the day and night, and with the help of the mindful methods and techniques you will find you’ll be practising mindfulness naturally on a moment to moment basis without even thinking about it.
The course is taken by LightHearts UK founder Katya Jezzard-Puyraud who is a fully qualified Mindfulness and Meditation Instructor. In a relaxed one-to-one setting, you’ll be treated with kindness and patience as you are gently led through the techniques and given the tools to carry out mindfulness practices at home each week for yourself.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness was founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, when he developed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts to treat the chronically ill. Since that time, the practice has yielded such excellent results that it has now been adopted in schools, prisons, hospitals and veterans' centres around the world.
Mindfulness is a practice that allows us to notice the present moment – our thoughts, physical sensations and emotions – with kindness and without any judgement of ourselves or of others. By using various exercises such as meditation, breathing exercises and other simple methods, we can become more productive and less ‘busy’, we can moderate our emotions and actions, reduce stress and therefore find joy in everyday life once again.
Mindfulness is a practice that can have life-changing effects. Throughout the world mindfulness is now being hailed as not only an effective stress-reliever but also as a way to help those with chronic illnesses. (You can click HERE to read an article about the scientific study Harvard University recently carried out on how mindfulness can actually change the brain’s neural pathways and help those suffering from stress and depression.)
